Raisins: soak them before you eat
Raisins or kishmish are derived by drying the water from grapes. This turns the grapes into green, golden, black dry fruit. Raisins are naturally sweet in flavour and are often used as a topping over Indian desserts- like kheer or sevaiyan. It is even stuffed into muffins, cakes or bread. Raisins are full of natural sugars that make them great energy booster. They are rich in nutrients like iron, calcium and potassium, therefore, helps in physical and mental strength. While most of us enjoy it raw and aren’t aware of the health benefits of eating raisins soaked in water.

While the most common practice of consuming raisins in their raw form. Soaking raisins in water overnight and then eating them on an empty stomach early morning is considered to be very healthy. Apart from making the raisins plump and soft after soaking, this has additional advantages too.
The best way to consume raisins would be soaking the raisins overnight and consuming them the next day. It is said to be a healthier alternative. As the vitamins and minerals present in the outer skin of the raisin get dissolved in water. Thus, the possible amount of nutrients getting absorbed by our body increases. The antioxidant content also gets enhanced by soaking the raisins in water overnight.

I always keep raisins at home and add it in deserts and give my kids in milk although I had no idea about soaking them in water, thanks for sharing.

Raisins are indeed a healthy superfood but they are also delicious with their sweet flavour! I simply love them!
I swear by raisins, they help big time in reliving constipation. During my entire pregnancy it was recommended by my gyne to consumer good amount of raisins to prevent anemia
