How to adapt kids to Car Seat

sitting in car seat

Nowadays, T loves his car rides in this lovely blue car seat by Britax Roemer which is a luxury German car seat manufacturer. They are now available in India. Ever since I posted stories and shared posts wherein Tuggu was sitting in this car seat, I got a lot of queries and comments. Most were about general awareness they wanted about a car seat. Though I was surprised to see a few, where they talked about how their kids would not prefer sitting in a car seat.

Also, few of them don’t see a need to buy a car seat. In case you are among them, then you should read this post of mine. I am sure, it would help you in some ways to change your mind and understand why a car seat should be made a mandatory rule in India.

So let me directly come to the most asked query.

How to make your kids enjoy sitting in a Car Seat

Let me tell you our own story today, We got this premium car seat for Tuggu around 6 months back. He was 1.5 years then. Also, we had never buckled him, even for meals he had prefered to sit free. So we had a tough time explaining him the need for this. Surprising he (seems to) understand the difference of travelling with and without a car seat. And while talking and showing a small jerk helped, few other things also helped us-

  1. Keeping water sipper within reach in the back seat pocket of the car.
  2. Carrying some toys or books which can divert attention and keep him busy.
  3. Some snack preferably something bite size to munch on always helps.
  4. I also keep him engaged in conversations. If nothing else, some favourite nursery rhymes always work.

Further, there are times when he wants to set free. Then we give him a few moments of buckle free time, but he has to sit in the seat only. I too ensure to sit along with him to make him comfortable.

Inside the soft fabric outer padding there is 'Side Impact Cushion Technology'. Hence the name SICT which protects the kids from side impact if any. 🤞 . Of course you never want some thing like that happening, but as protective parents, this is what all we should do! It is very reassuring feeling that my kid is safe, whenever we take the car on the go! . . Trust me, they would eventually understand and there is no point forcing them to sit in a car seat.  A Car seat is a must have protective gear for kids while driving. Of course, you never want something like that happening, but as protective parents, this is what all we should do! It is a very reassuring feeling that my kid is safe, whenever we take the car on the go!

Well, it’s not bad to be safe….right???
