Silver Hair Sins by Saumick Pal – Book review
Recently, I got this chance to read Silver Hair Sins by Saumick Pal. A thought-provoking, excellent book which is set ahead in time, 2088 Ad onwards. If you love sci-fi, then it is your pick, you should totally not miss reading this book. ‘Silver Hair Sins’ is India’s first ever Visual Fiction book and I feel so glad to be able to receive and read it when it just when it is released. Let me share what all like about this book.
The Book Review
Silver Hair Sins by Saumick Pal is not any usual story you might have come across. Frankly, I find the book very unique and the title was intriguing. But by the time, I finished the book, it made sense that it is indeed a perfect title.
The book deals with various aspects of social, political and religious aspects which are at its tipping point. How these issues are easily moulded for self-interest by the leaders. How we still had differences and how the ‘Technology’ has to step in to guide us and save humanity. Islam, Christianity, Hinduism all merged as one- Artificial Intelligence.
- The book has 166 pages to be precise. The language is simple and easy to read. The story is crisp and without any boring unwanted explanations.
- Its narration is superb and easily takes into the future, imagining flying in hovercrafts, humans embedded with silver chips etc.
- Importantly the characterisation is very thoughtful and enough to keep the curiosity level high.
- Also, there is a brilliant use of cinematized photographs leaving a strong and visual impact. I felt that they took the narration to another level and were helpful in communicating this imaginative read.
- Above all, the title aptly fits the story and cover complements it pretty well.
The gripping story revolves around a family as they fight to survive in the dystopian world of Murder, Manipulation love and Sacrifice. What all do go through has been wonderfully apprehended in this book.
